Windows XP and security identifiers

Posted: 07-23-2003, 07:59 PM
Hardware on one of our laptops failed so we put the hard
drive from the laptop into another machine of the same
make and model. This laptop was a member of our domain
and after we swapped the hard drive everything worked just
fine. The question is, should we have run sysprep on the
new laptop after we put the old hard drive into it to
reset all the security identifiers? Could this cause
problems down the line?
