Windows XP SP1 Incoming Connection in Dial-up

Posted: 07-17-2003, 08:10 AM
Hi
I've been working through this same problem myself for
some time, and have found the solution. (See my enquiry
earlier on today).
You don't setup anything in the modem - the RAS service
(Incoming Connection) in the PC takes care of everything.
When the line 'rings' the modem automatically sends a
ring signal on to the PC, and the Ras service counts the
rings, and when it's happy sends the command to the modem
to answer the line (cool system).
The problem is to change the RAS service ring count
number.
This is accomplished apparently differently depending on
what Windows version you are running.

I've only used the RASMAN/Parameters key solution since
we're running WinXPP & Home. At first we had no joy, but
found that you have to power the PC down to restart RAS.
We set ours to 10 rings & it works fine.

The problem is that

set the modem

register "ATS0=008&W". At some stage

initialize the modem "ATZ"

Incoming Connection and
