Default Re: windows xp on two drives after reinstall attempt

Hi, Kelly.

If you really want to start fresh, just boot from the WinXP CD-ROM and tell
it to (repartition, if you like, and) reformat your hard drive. Unless you
plan to install Win9x/ME on this computer some day, let it use NTFS all the
way.

This is the time to decide if you want a single partition or two. WinXP
will be just as happy either way. Many of us like to have a fairly small
(3-6 GB?) Drive C: with just the operating system in it, and a second
partition for our programs and data. Then, if we need to reformat one
partition, we don't need to disturb the other. Let Setup create and format
Drive C:, then use Disk Management to create and format any other partitions
that you like after WinXP is installed and running.
