Windows XP and Windows ME

Home Edition. I also have a Gateway desktop and a
Toshiba laptop. I have a home network set up with a
cable modem, a Linksys switch, and a Linksys hub. I have
two printers that are also connected to the network via
Sohoware Plug-n-Print. I can "see" the XP computer from
both of the other computers. I can't "see" any other
computer besides the XP machine. I have tried installing
NetBeui since it doesn't come with XP. That didn't
work. I tried only using TCP/IP. That doesn't work.
I'm about ready to stick XP in the trash. No wonder
people get upset with Microsoft. They produce a good
product (WIN 98se) and almost every other Windows product
since then stinks.
Does anyone have any idea how to get XP to
consistently "see" other computers? Plus, why does it
take forever to transfer files between XP and ME.
Granted, ME is not the best in the world either, but I
can transfer files between both my ME machines without
blinking almost. Also, I've tried printing from XP to my
printers. One of the printers test page is shrunk and
fuzzy. The other printer will start reprinting the top
of the page half way down the page. Strange I know, but
you should see this. It is unbelieveable. Any help
would be appreaciated. Thank you.
