Windows Xp won't fast switch user accounts

This has happened to me on two pc's now. It seems to have
something to do with the XP PLUS crap my wife wanted
installed. So she adds a screensaver and changes her
background, and suddenly I have to completely log her off
before I can get on. She has only user access and I am
the admin but it still will not fast switch. I have
removed the screen saver and changed the background back
to default, but the damage is already done. It refuses to
switch accounts. Any ideas?

Open User Accounts in the Control Panel, and try 'Change the way users log
on and off'. You should be able to switch it back on in there.

It's on. That was the first thing I checked. I thought
it might have gotten disabled somehow. But when choose
log off from the start menu, it gives me the option to
switch. It just errors out when I click on a different
name.
