windowsmesenger upgrade

upon upgrading to windows messenger 5.0 from 4.7 , i could
no longer View Profile of contacts, also the Go to Chat
rooms is gone, and it does not link to Hotmail.
Is says, 'You are not signed into SIP. click here.' but
when i try that i get. 'an https or tcp could not be made.
pls wait for network admin to correct, and try later.'

Yes Joe

It is very frustrating that useful parts of Messenger have been omitted in
the latest version.. to change back to 4.7..
Firstly, check that this link will in fact take you to the MS site from
where you can install version 4.7

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...2D1-6266-4D82-
BF78-14597545A6B4&displaylang=en

Having established that it will..

To uninstall version 5, go to 'RUN' from the START button, then type or copy
the following text into the box..

msiexec.exe /x {ABEB838C-A1A7-4C5D-B7E1-8B4314B10138}

Good luck

Mike
