WindowsXP and Network Places

Posted: 12-05-2003, 03:50 PM
Hi

I need to access a folder on a WebDAV server (without buying further
software). I have a problem with a WindowsXP client computer (but not with
Win98).

When I create a new folder in Network Places, and enter the user id, the
computer creates and sends an id string which is the server domain PLUS the
original id - and the server rejects it.
Is there any way to make Network Places behave differently?

I can avoid this problem if I create my webfolder inside MSIE 6. This has
worked on one client (on the LAN) but not on another client (over the
Internet).
Why is this?

I would appreciate any advice

Thanks
Ian
