WindowsXP SP2 on an e-Machine

Posted: 01-24-2009, 04:51 PM
I'm trying to install several MS applications on my e-Machine that is
running WindowsXP with SP2. I can get the applications to install okay with
no problem. However, when I try to open them I get a message that they are
only supported by: windows XP, 2000,Vista and server2003. Is there a
setting in XP that needs to be modified. The OS came with the system. The
apps I'm installing are being downloaded online.

Thanks

Please specify the applications in question by name and version.

Perform the following...

Download, install, run, update and perform a full scan (separately) with the
following two applications (freeware versions are the ones to use for this):

SuperAntiSpyware
http://www.superantispyware.com/

MalwareBytes
http://www.malwarebytes.com/

After performing a full scan with one and then the other and removing
whatever they both find completely, you may uninstall these products,
if you wish.

Reboot.

Come back - let us know what you found, if anything.
