WindowsXPStartup.wav at startup???!!

Posted: 09-13-2006, 02:55 PM
Is this happening with everyone?

RC1 is playing the WindowsXPStartup.wav sound at the login screen. *BEFORE*
I log in. (So I can't turn it off by using the "Sounds" applet because it's
not part of any user profile), In fact the sound is not even one of the
available sounds to choose for events - I played every one of them to make
sure.

How can I turn this sound off? It doesn't work well for those of us who
like to mess with our computers when others are trying to sleep ;-0.
....... And it's annoying, too.

I believe this is by design.

Turn down/off/unplug your speakers, perhaps?

It's 'hard coded' in....at the moment.

I wonder if MS will enable you to "personalize" the log-in and user screens
as well as just your desktop?

If not Microsoft, then 'someone', I'm sure.
After the official release, probably.

Design and Graphic/ Shell / Folders = Yes.

The Sound of Start = No.will be hardcoded as now and only changed to the
Vista Sound.

You remember the "gong" when you booted Macs ? - same effect.

Turn PC on - Listen - "Ah.It is Vista"
