Winlogon Error

Posted: 09-26-2003, 09:42 PM
Periodically some of our devices are seeing a Winlogon error at boot time.
The error says that the address (some address) can not be read or written
to. Any ideas?

Sean:

Did you see application exception number: c0000096? I have seen such a
thing one time.

My Dr. Watson log pointed at winlogon.exe function
kernel32!DelayLoadFailureHook.

Is this what you are seeing?

TIA... Doug

Doug,
I am not getting an exception number, but a failure to read or write to a
memory location during the winlogon. The first time I saw the error I
thought it looked like an issue with the ram, but the problem was persistent
on multiple machines so the ram is not the cause. I am researching the
issue, when I find the cause I'll let you know.

Regards,
