WinZip Installation

Posted: 03-25-2008, 01:23 AM
I purchased WinZip online and when I go to install a message comes up "The
system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." It is
my home computer and I am the only user. How do I change this administrator
policy so the program will install?

Chooch,

On the installer, right click it, and select run as administrator. That
should do it.

chooch, I get sane message when trying to open a patch from MS about
works speadsheet. The patch doesn't have the right click "run as
admin..." option. Please let me know if yours has one.

Right click the setup program and select "Run as Administrator".

I appreciate the help others tried to give me but, when it came down to it I
plugged away until I found the fix myself. I opened the control panel and
then the user accounts. It showed my name as administrator. It's a home
computer and I'm the only account on it. Once user accounts is opened you
will see a check box that states, "turn user account control on or off."
Check it so that the check box is empty and restart your computer. After
that winzip installed just fine. Please let me know it this worked for you.
