Wireless 802.11b XPe SP1

Posted: 03-09-2005, 09:56 AM
I have a WinSystems EBC-C3 board

On it I have a ZyAir B101 Wireless Network card (802.11b) in a
WinSystems PC104 CardBus Adaptor [that uses the Texas Instruments PC
1510 CardBus controller.

The image boots up fine. Using Device Manager I can see the ZyAir an
the CardBus and there are no conflicts

From the Start Button I select 'Connect To'.

I see the Wireless Network Connection which has a big red X on i
meaning it’s not connected

I double click on the Wireless Network and get the “Wireless Networ
Connection” Dialog

There is a big yellow triangle with the message

“This wireless network is not secure. Because a network
key (WEP) is not used for authentication or for data
encryption, data sent over this network might be subject to
unauthorized access.

There is a check box below it to: “Allow me to connected to th
selected wireless network, even though it is not secure

I also see the Motorola A36 network selected in the EditBox abov
which is the name of the wireless network I have

I check the checkbox, which enables the Connect button. I click on th
Connect button with highest of expectations

The “Wireless Network Connection” Dialog goes away but the big red
on the Wireless Network Connection is still there

When I double click on the Wireless Network Connection again th
“Wireless Network Connection” Dialog comes up exactly as before wit
the check box unchecked and the Connect button disabled

Would really appreciate any help, thanks
