Would you please tell us what models worked and didn't work?

Hi Bob,
the Netgear WG111T does not work with Vista, despite the claims
by Netgear. The D-Link DWL-G122 is Vista Certified and works great.

I have a WG111T USB Net adpater that I connected to any of an Emachacine
T5234 usb ports and it recognized it once and shut down after a short
period, then could never get the system to recognize it again. Never can
get past the install part where the system reboots to see the adapter
working, and you set in the Country, Encryption, etc. Multiple removal
and re-installs. Installed onto another older XP Emachines and all works
well. Up to date Vista drivers etc. I did disable the integrated NIC
card once, and that did not help either. Not tried the power management
and IPV6, not savvy enough to find out how. My Netgear router supports
the other Vista PCs (Laptops) with integrated wireless, but they operate
at 54MBps, and router only supports either 10, 54, or 100 MBps. Of
course the WG111T is 100MBps. I have not yet shut off the other PCs and
tried just connecting at 100MBps with the Emachines. If it's not that I
suspect something with Emachines BIOS and USB configuration not allowing
a networkadapter driver to be installed (or the power mgmt and IPV6)?
Any later info or similar problems with a solution and instruction on
how to unbind the IPv6 and power setting, would be much welcome.
Except for getting 75 ft of wire and RJ45 tool.
Thanks.
