| I cannot connect to my wireless network after reintsalling Vista on my notebook. I hvae an HP dv6139us notebook. I can see the newtork and I can try to connect but everytime I try to, it does not connect for an unknown reason. I have a secure network and i put the correct passphrase in as all my other computers connect with no problems. I have also dover a little deeper into this and when you look and the nwetwork and sharing center and click view full map, under the drop down menu there is an error message that states, network adapter is not enabled. How do i enbale the adatper? As I have checked this in the device manager and it shows that this is enabled. I am totally confused and lost and about to pull my hair out. Has anyone else experienced this and you did how do you fix this issue? Please help! Frustrated in Florida! | Guest

| Yes I have installed all the drivers from HP. I have to also say that this all started after a major power hit last Monday morning when I was at the beach. When i got back, everything was back up and working except for my notebook would not reconnect to my network. Do you think I might need to reintall my network? "Malke" wrote: Quote:

configuration utility and see if it was reset to default. If it was, set it up for your network again. If that doesn't work, perhaps the issue is on your computer and not on your network. It is quite difficult to tell from your posts; first you say you reinstalled Vista and now you say there was a power hit. Which came first? In any case, does your computer connect to anyone else's wireless network? If yes and resetting your modem/router doesn't help, then probably you've fried the wireless portion of the modem/router. If no, then probably you've fried the wireless network adapter in your computer. In that case, contact HP tech support for replacement. | Sorry for not being more specific. The power hit came first. That is when i lost my network connect and could not reconnect to my network on my notebook. I was going to reinstall Vista anyway. I can not connect to any network, not even a non secure network as in my neighbors........this does sound like my wireless network adapter is fried because I have powered cycled my modem/router a couple of times and still no connection.
