Posted: 12-01-2007, 11:06 PM
i have a wireless gaming reciever that i bought back when i had vista home
premium. worked fine, played thru halo 2 almost all the way thru. then i
upgraded to vista home premium 64x and havent been able to get it to work
yet. have tried installing/unistalling 20 or so times and updating it at the
website, but no luck at all.

anybody have any ideas or has there been a fix for this yet?

It may help if you list what this hardware is (brand and type) being its a
reciever its hardware and hardware needs a driver so your going to have to go
to the manufactures web site and look for a 64 bit driver. If no Vista X64
bit driver is furnished by the manufacturer the reciever just isn't going to
work with the 64 bit version.

Hi,

Uninstall the current software, then download and install the most recent
one for x64 here:

This definitely works, as I have an XBox 360 wireless gaming receiver
running under Vista Ultimate x64.

Hi,

Click start and type msconfig, then hit <enter>. On the startup tab make
sure the xbox software is enabled to load at boot. Windows Defender may be
blocking it as well. If the light on the receiver does not come on as the
system finishes booting, then something is blocking it.

yes it is configured to come on and yes the light does come on. When you
push the button on the reciever it blinks and then when you push the connect
button on the controller it will "ACT" like it is connecting and the reciver
will stop blinking, and the ring on the controller will stop spining but then
it ( the ring ) will just blink and thats all it will do until you turn the
controller off.

Hi,

Have you tried unplugging it from the USB port and reinserting it? This
should reinitialize the receiver, it's happened to me a few times.
