Wireless Keyboard help

Posted: 07-29-2007, 06:20 AM
Hi,

Just purchased the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2000, and the I can't
get the keyboard to work. When typing it just inputs random characters, or
nothing at all. I have installed all the vista drivers, and have followed all
the advice given on the support page (uninstalled and reinstalled numerous
times, checked old keyboard is uninstalled, confirmed with the mskey utility
that it IS inputting the incorrect data and checked that all drivers are up
to date). There are no wireless devices around that could be causing
interference.

I'm stumped - any suggestions?

Cheers!

urkT,

In Device Manager, try uninstalling the Keyboard and rebooting. The idea is
to have Windows reinstall everything when it reboots and to thus fix the
problem. Sometimes this approach works, but sometimes not, but worth a try.
Post back on results.

urkT,

Maybe it's a USB related problem. Try this USB reliability fix:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Post back on results.

Also, are you following the instructions in the supplied leaflet to the
letter? Ensure that you are, and if all else fails, take it back from whence
it was purchased and get it exchanged.

hi buddy.........
I understand your problem, better u can buy apple wireless keyboard. The Apple Wireless Keyboard is a wireless keyboard built for Macintosh computers. It interacts over Bluetooth wireless technology and unlike its wired version, it has no USB connectors or ports. Both generations have low-power features when not in use. This wireless keyboard will be very useful for you.
