Wireless Link for Infra Red port not working

I am having Compaq Presario 2825ea NoteBook.
O/S - Windows Xp Home edition.
System was unresponsive so I reinstalled Windows again.
So now there is no Wirelss Link for Infra red port was
working, all of a sudden this link fail so now I cannot
use Internet.
