Default Wireless WPA-PSK

Hi,
I have a problem with my wireless connection... I have a compaq and Dell610
on XP that works well using Wireless + WPA PSK, I recently bought an ASUS
and I have only been able to connect twice wirelessly for about 3-4 hours. I
have not been able to replicate this for the last 5 days.

Detailed roblem Description
Unable to connect to Wireless Router using WPA-PSK

I removed the security settings on the router and was able to connect.

Router:
Zyxel 2602HWL ZyNOS F/W Version: V3.40(ADF.1) | 07/12/2005
DSL FW Version:TI AR7 03.02.06.00

There are no upgrades available for the router

I upgraded the driver of the wireless adaptor on my laptop
Adpator:
Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
Driver
11.5.0.32

-> No resolution

I added the following dword to the registry setting for the Wireless
interface:
DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and set it to 1

on
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{6CDF7184-DFB0-4421-AC85-DE0376292520}

-> NO resolution.

I tried using WEP and 802.1x encryption and could not connect. I think since
this methods are less secure, MS has decided not to support it on Vista.

I would appreciate your help with this.

If this is not the right forum for this question, please advise and provide
alternatives if possible. Thank You in advance.

--------------------------------------------

Thanks.

Pablo.

Hi
If your new laptop is running Vista, and the Zyxel is from 2005 it might
have compatibility problems with Vista call Zyxel support.

Default Re: Wireless WPA-PSK

I need to see this with the wired Lan disabled and the wireless
enabled to see if you are even getting an IP. Make sure you have the
latest driver for the Intel wireless card. I'd definitely unbind
IPv6 from the wireless:
http://digitalmediaphile.wordpress.c...windows-vista/

As Jack said, old firmware in the router is a probably issue. You
posted that the firmware was from 2005. You need to see if there is
new, Vista compatible firmware. If the info above and new firmware
do not fix your issue, you may need to replace the 2005 device with
one that is certified to work with Vista.

Default Re: Wireless WPA-PSK

I have the same router and the same issue. WPA-PSK worked for me for a time
but now doesn't. I'll be interested to see how you can.

Default Re: Wireless WPA-PSK

Will let you know if I succeed. checking with my ISP, Zyxel support(no
response yet!), and this forum. I read someone found a firmware upgrade for
router that fixes the problem but the link does not work anymore. It was on
Zyxel germany.

Thanks.
