wma tack number id tag

Posted: 03-26-2005, 04:31 PM
System is XP Pro SP2, NTFS file system, & WMP10. The wma file created by riping
an audio CD creates a track number id in the file system (large file size).
Right click-properties on a wma file and it's there. When I xfer the file to
an mp3/wma player and copy it back to the hard drive, (small file
size-compressed) the tack id is missing from it's properties. Any ideas on
fixes? Also happens on converting wav files to wma - same process. The only
file format that retains the track id is mp3. I'd like to keep the tack id
with wma format - thanks
