| Hi, Recently we've noticed a lot of our laptops have started to take a long time to boot up. Most are around a 2.6Ghz Duo Core 2 CPU with 2Gb RAM, so the spec should handle WinXP without a problem. However, boot up was taking over 5 minutes on some laptops, so I installed BootLogXP. After doing a reboot, and analysing the results, it looks like wmiprvse is starting twice, the first is taking 143 seconds to start and the second is taking 131 seconds. Looking at all the loaded DLLs, of the first instance, 46 of them take between 1.03 & 1.97 seconds to start, but MOFD.DLL takes 144 seconds to start. What is this dll used for? What would cause it to take so long to start up? Is there anyway to speed it up? The second instance has 67 DLLs, the last 7 DLLs, licwmi.dll, wininet.dll, normaliz.dll, iertutil.dll, licdll.dll, rsaenh.dll, & dpcdll.dll take 129 - 130 seconds to start. Any help or suggestions on how I can improve boot up performace would be much appreciated! Ben | Guest
