WMM 2.6 Crashes on ntdll.dll error

Running Vista Home Basic. The original WMM would not run due to "no
acceleration" error. I downloaded and installed WMM 2.6 per instructions on
MS downloads referencing this problem. Now: WMM 2.6 won'trun due to ntdll.dll
error.

WHAT UP?

Please advise.
