wmp won't recognize cd

Hello I haven't burnt a cd in about 6 weeks. I tried to tonite when i made my playlist and tried to hit copy nothing happened to the copy button. I also tried to copy to cd from my music but it kept saying device not detected. Hellllp. I am knew to this and not very puter literate so please explain it to me as simple as possilbe....thank you in advance...I love this site
