WMP9 &"Generic Host Process Win32 Services" error message

This morning, for no reason that I can figure out, when I
started MP9 to listen to some tunes, I got the error
message above, my sound card no longer appeared in the
control panel and the Process Manager was running at 100%.

I can't figure out if a Codec has gone bad, if my music
files are corrupted, or if my sound card driver is shot.

Anyone have something like this happen to them and/or
know how to fix this thing?
