WMP9 not streaming radio

Media player 9 will not stream internet audio.
"Error:0xC00D1197: Cannot play the file" is the
message I get. Help menu directs me to the Tools menu,
click Options, and then click the Network tab to set up
all Streaming protocols. The network tab is there,
but clicking it will not open the page. What is wrong
here? I tried un-install & re-install to no effect.
RealPlayerOne gets audio from internet stations,no
problem.
Please help!
