Won't accept video files

Posted: 04-02-2007, 10:54 AM
I have a JVC harddisk camera. I rename the MOD-files to MPG (or AVI),
but Movie Maker only finds the audio part.
I have tried to use VDubMod to convert the files to AVI, and it works
all right.
But there must be an easier way. Is there a program, which can convert
a group of files in one move?
I have Windows XP, SP2, WMM 2.1

I have the exact same camera also. I downloaded software (MPEG streamclip
1.1) to convert the MOD files to AVI files. I did them in batches also.
Once they were converted, I imported them into movie maker. After I put the
clips into the storyboard and wanted to preview the movie....all I had was
sound with a black screen. So I have the audio but no visual images. Please
help!! What do I need to do to fix this?

This seems to be a problem with some conversion software especially when
converting to AVI
A few things to try.

1) Try, if the software has the option, to convert to WMV instead.

2) Try using Windows Media Encoder to convert to WMV. Sometimes you get good
results and sometimes you don't with WME.

3) Try another program to convert the videos. Check out this website:
