Won't boot after install

I just installed Vista RC2 32bit and used my RC1 serial number. When
installing it mentions RC1 not RC2 typo or not? Anyway it went through the
install ok and rebboted but all it does when it boots from the drive is goes
to a black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left corner and gets no
further. I have tried the boot repair from the Vista disk but it has not
cured the problem.

Athlon 64 3500
Asus A8V deluxe
2 Gig
6800GT
Seagate Barracuda 250
Clean format with no other drives (except IDE DVD) connected
