I have a client pc in my small network that is loaded
with WinXP and Office XP on a client/server domain small
network. The user works with files on a floppy that was
formerly used with a windows 2000 pro workstation and
office 2000.
When she opens a word file that was created in Word 2000,
makes changes to it, then attempts to save, she
gets "Word cannot complete the save due to a file
permission error". After about 4 or 5 attempts, it lets
her save the document. Also, when she changes the
filename to a new filename, she gets the same error.
Eventually, it lets her save the file.
She has Word97/2000 compatibility enabled. She is a
member of the same group everybody else is and others in
the group have no problem saving to a diskette.
I've updated all WinXP Service Packs and security patches
available as well as all Office XP service packs and
patches.
Anybody got any ideas??
Thanks.
