Workgroup is not accessible.

i have an xp pro box that has been working fine until recently.

now when i go to "workgroup" it says

"workgroup is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if
you have access permissions. The remote server has been paused or is in the
process of being started."

problem is, im only looking at my 3 other machines in other parts of the
house. if i look at the saved network connections (not using the workgroup
path) it works fine.

ie. click on my network places, and look at "local network" for the prior
places i have been. they still work fine.

any ideas what went wrong?

fixed it

downloaded all the critical updates, and it started working again. not sure
why, but.....

go figure.

Did you have to reboot after the updates? If yew, it might have been the
reboot that resolved the issue.
