Workgroup permission

Posted: 12-24-2007, 12:56 AM
Hi,

Is there any way to select a user account on other PCs of the same workgroup
and give that user modify permission on a folder? I need to give modify
permission to a specific user on XP pro pc which is part of the same
workgroup to use a folder on my vista business folder. Like when you pick a
user account from a domain and give that user specific permisssion to use
the folder.

You would have to recreate that user on your PC and assign permissions
to that user...

Med,

Workgroup membership is irrelevant here. What's relevant is the account on the
computer where the folder is hosted. Having a matching account on the other
computers is useful, but not essential. This is true if you have Simple File
Sharing disabled.
