WPA not available

Posted: 12-20-2005, 09:48 AM
Hello folks,

we're having a strange problem with WPA-PSK encryption when using Cisco
Aironet 350-Cards with XPe SP2

We're using the WZC-Wizard from XPe for the configuration of the radiocards,
because the Cisco tool is not provisioning WPA-PSK, only WPA with LEAP or
EAP-FAST-Authentication.

In this configuration we can't choose "open" -> WPA-PSK, only WEP, in the
dialogbox of the WZC.
When we're taking a different card, e.g. Intel 2915 a/b/g Mini-PCI-Card, the
driver provides us the necessary functionality, so we don't have to use WZC.

Does anybody know, which component we forgot to put into the image?

best regards

S.Pottel

Just solved the problem,

the cisco card is not providing this service, just WPA with LEAP or
EAP-Fast.

In our environment we can set WPA(-PSK) for Cisco Series 350 .11b-Cards.
We use Cisco's driver v8.6.16 and, for the reasons you mentioned,
Microsoft's wireless zero configuration tool. PSK is working fine, WPA
is to work but lacks from different insufficencies in MS'
implementation, especially when roaming.
