Writing photos to disc

Subject: Can't get XP to write photos to CD

I have used XP to write music with no problems but cannot
get XP to write photos, each time the wizard tells me to
insert a CD or ensure the one inserted is blank, I know
the drive works as I can copy using Roxio 5.3.4

Also I have a Fuji finepix F401 and although it works
fine on my PC it just doesn't seem to talk to XP very
well despite being designed for this system. For
instance if I am downloading photos from the camera I
have to access the e:removalable media drive manually via
my computer, surely it should do this automatically??
