WXP Pro machines accessing Vista machine on workgroup

Posted: 01-11-2007, 11:58 PM
Anybody know how to allow above? My XP machines on the workgroup can SEE the
drives I've enabled sharing (with full access/permissions) for on the Vista
Ultimate (RTM) machine but these machines CAN'T access/open add/remove/etc.
files on the Vista machine.

I've made the obvious changes in Security Policy applet.........
I'm sure it's something simple and I'll kick myself when someone points this
out to me.

How are the XP machines trying to access the Vista drives?

What exactly happens when they do it? If there are error messages,
what do they say?

Are you trying to access drives or shares? If it's the admin shares like c$
then this may be the solution.

There may also be something useful here.

Some more details of exactly what you are trying to do would be helpful.
