X1600 Pro GPU Problem

the ATI full Vista drivers for the X1600 and they do not work. Had a look on
web for fix cannot see any, anyone here had problems with this type of GPU?
On installing ATI drivers it installs with errors, ATI centre will not run,
although the card is shown as a ATI 1600 Pro in the system it has the yellow
qusetion mark!
Tried updating drivers comes up with error '(10) Device could not start'.
Any help or pointers to help appreciated - want to at least have alook ar
Aero, bought the GPU for that purpose.
