Default x64 Download Issue

I have downloaded Vista x64 twice, and checked both with FileCheckMD5 and the
MD5 result for both are the same, but is incorrect when compared the the one
Andre posted seven hundred different places.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you getting past 13 MB?
For some reason, no matter what I download with, I get cut off at 13 MB. I
think the file is corrupted or incomplete on the server.

Yes. I have downloaded x64 twice and both of the files I downloaded have
4,309,368,832 bytes. If you check in many places both Andre and Zack have
published this number.

But when I check either file I have downloaded with FileCheckMD5 it hashes a
different MD5 than what is supposed to be, according to the strings that
Andre has provided. Curiously, when I check the same file with Nero, as
suggested by Andre, I almost immediately get a "Runtime Error" stating that
Nero was asked to close in an "unusual way."

Even more curious, both of the files I downloaded report the same size in
bytes, which is the correct size, and both files report the same MD5 string,
which is incorrect.

I am using GetRight as a download manager, and successfully downloaded Vista
x86 Beta 2 with no issue, and also SUSE 10.1 dvd iso with no issue today, so
I am starting to think it is the file on MSFT's server that may be wonky.

Either way I have 8GB of useless data.

Does any one else have the same issue or perhaps a solution?

I have exactly the same issue and checksum as you
(8ec33bb91f4b8a364b349323cf5dcbda) and I'm trying my second burn now. I
wonder how many people have an x64 version that works? Also I'm using the
same program with the 4.1 GB download.

Andre suggested in a different thread that if I can burn the iso I have to a
disc and it can be verified as a good burn, that I attempt an installation
since the error, if any, will occur long before any files are copied. I just
don't have the mental stability to try that! I'm going to give it a couple
of days and then try the download again.

Question for Andre:

Is it at all conceivable that the checksum that you have from MSFT for
Windows Vista x64 Beta 2 is incorrect?

Mark, I got the same result as you re hash check when using one md5 checker
(filecheckmd5.exe by Brandon Staggs), but got a different hash check result,
which is apparently the correct one, when I checked it with this method:

http://vista.visualwin.com/check-iso/

Hello Jane;

I just tried your suggestion and was able to hash the correct MD5 from the
file I downloaded (fourth one, as I had deleted the previous three...).

Now, being skeptical (of my own ability first and foremost), Nero's checker
won't even run on the file (C++ Runtime Error), Brandon's app won't hash the
correct sequence and this one comes up with the right one.

Who to believe, who to believe...

I guess the only real way to know is to burn the .iso to a dvd, throw the
switch and go to lunch.

Now I'm not sure about the SATA hard-drive issue, either, but that's another
story...

Craziest thing in the world, you can't download microsoft software with
microsoft's own internet explorer, the file only comes through as a 13.7 mb
file for me whenever i use IE, but i get the whole file with Firefox, Weird!
