XBOX 360

Thought I would try the xbox 360 as a extender for vista and get an error on
the xbox when it tries to connect to the pc:

"this discs region code is incorrect for this console"

Anyone else seen this? got a workaround ?

Which region are you in at the moment, and which version of Vista are you
running? Also, I don't know much about Xbox's to be honest, however which
game are you playing?

It could be like standard DVD's - if you have a European DVD, you can only
really play it on a European DVD player or one that has the option to. Maybe
the disk you're playing with is incompatible with the web service, or the
actual Xbox itself?

It is a UK XBOX 360 and I guess Vista is US version(?)

The strange thing is that I am not trying to play a disk, the error is
displayed as soon as the xbox tries to connect as part of setting it up as
an extender to the vista machine.

Oh well, will just have to go back to XP MCE :-(

Have you tried setting your local in Vista to English UK (Control Panel -
set to "Classic View" > Regisional Settings)?

I guess you are just gonna have wait until Vista localized for UK and
available there to support the XBOX. Right now, the only languages I am
aware of that have been localized are US English, German, Simplified Chinese
and German.

I have exactly the same issue.... I checked all the various locale settings
and they're all UK.

I can't find anything that says whether the Vista Beta 2 version (that I
downloaded from MSDN) is a 'US' version.... anyone know if/how you can
check ???

Phil
