XP Activation

After installing XP Home edition for the first time I have 30 days to
activate. Can I make as many hardware changes as I want prior to activation
without the "votes" changing?
Thanks,
Rick Hanson

Hi Rick,
Please expand on what you refer to as,'hardware changes', and 'votes'
Rob.

Although I don't really understand exactly what you are asking, you can
always call MS if you need to reactivate. As long as you are legitimate
customer they will generally have no problem letting you reactivate if you
make too many hardware changes. Activation is really designed to prevent
you from giving your cd and key to all your friends, NOT to prevent you from
making hardware changes. They usually give you the benefit of the doubt.

(I don't speak for Microsoft, but I'm just relaying my experiences with
product activation.)

He was asking if he could make hardware changes. He did not say he already did it

Anyway, I don't see why he can't. But the question is, will it make any difference if he did the changes before or after.
