XP Adding Slave Drive

Help! Ok I Just Bought a new HD from dell I am replacing
a 8 gig HD slave with an 80 gig hd slave. I have never
had to partition or format a new drive before as I've
only bought two slaves one was used, the other the store
did for me. I am reading that i should run>command>fdisk
but my xp says their is no fdisk command??

I did go in the bios to make sure the new HD is being
listed and it is its also in my computer listing in the
dell support program however is does not show up in "my
computer" and i've tried everything.

I guess I need to partition it and format it, I can
handle the format easy enough but how the heck can you
partition when the command prompt says their is no fdisk
command?

Dell support seemed to know nothing about my issue and
told me to take out my master and install all my software
on the new drive well thats kinda stupid who wants xp OS
on both drives?

I also do not see make a boot disk in the add/remove
section to make one.

So my question is am I going to have to remove my master
to get this stupid harddrive to partition or show in my
computer? PLEASE email me if you have the answer as I am
not a newsgroup person and from what I see microsoft is
going to post this in one.

THanks!

Format using Comp.Management, within XP.
