XP "Bug" with Motocross Madness 2 racing on the zone

Posted: 09-30-2003, 02:53 AM
MS needs to have some players on the zone. I go by
SX5FE_MADMAN, am a recognized track creator and have
played the game 3 yrs. When running XP & MCM2 on the zone
there is a HUGE problem, we call it "hyperbike", the bike
is unstable and uncontrolable with eratic spurts of
hyperspeed. Microsoft has ignored pleas due to MCM2
being "an old game". Well, its 80% of my online activity,
I buy a OS & Game from same giant and they are
incompatible. This problem seems to mainly be only an
online problem but 85-90% of XP users have it. I went back
to 98SE because MS will not address the issue. I graduated
with a 3.94 in electronics and have tried everything from
drivers, settings, to a whole new system based on
different processor & RAM, same deal with both systems.
Directx X, no dont give me the version 9 bologna, makes no
difference. Nor the video card's fault, same problem with
ATI card or GeForce. Before I die I hope someone breaks
Gates monopoly. Don't release stuff till its tested, even
if you do loose billions of $ and need to make it up. Oh
yea, it would be nice to be able to purchase the SP1 and
the 1 million other fixes for XP on a CD instead of
spending 2 days online downloading fixes to a joke of a
operating system.

Why not contact the Zone folks with your issues, either on the web site or
through the microsoft.public.games.zone.simulation newsgroup? Those sources
would be a more direct contact. You could also use the form for submitting
the suggestion here:

The problem doesn't lie with XP ... it's a problem with the Zone software
AND XP/2000 combination. You know as well as I do that the hyperbike only
occurs when you play on the Zone. If you IP in or play single player ... no
hyperbike.

I've had dealings with MS and MSN regarding this issue ... and they will not
fix it. The only way it will be addressed is if MS ever rework the entire
Zone software .... by which time they'll have taken MCM2 off of their
directplay lobbies and we'll have to rely on gamespy to play it.

Sad ... but true.
