XP-Can't access outlook express for email?

My default for email is Outlook Express.I use XP
Professional. I use to be able to access my email by
clicking on the envelope icon on the tool bar and
click "read mail". Now, the only way I can access my
email is to go to "start", "programs" and then
click "outlook express".

Why doesn't my little envelope icon work any more? It was
so much easier. The icon is there but when I click,
nothing happens. Thanks for any help. I'm a novice.

Hi,
The Outlook Express icon in the Quick Launch portion of
the Taskbar is more helpful than the steps you are
taking. If you do not have a Quick Launch toolbar, use
Start, Halp and Support; search for Quck Launch. Pick
the task "Add a program to the Quick Launch bar." Follow
the instructions, for more convenience in accessing
Outlook Express.
