XP Can't open .jpg file created on a Mac

Hello, someone sent me a .jpg file from a Mac. I use XP and I cannot open it
with MS Photo Editor.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

try to open it with paint!
if it could not then there is a format compatability problem from the jpg !
but thats one in thousand

Paint did not work. I tried Right Mouse and selected "Open With" and 5
programs failed, but I finally found one which would work. Photoworks. Most
people won't have that.
Thank you for your response which led me to a solution.
