XP changes video file to audio

Posted: 10-01-2003, 11:46 PM
Suddenly (following upgrade of Media Player to v.9) I find
that WMP plays .avi (video file) in sound only.
Properties show it to be an audio file. These a clips
that worked find (Sound & Vision) prior to upgrade of WMP.

Can someone please give me a clue as to what is going on -
I cannot find any solution in the M'soft troubleshooting
section.

regards - John F
