Last week, I visited the windows update center and found
some critical updates for XP. I downloaded and installed
them, but upon rebooting, found that my graphics adapter
driver had been fouled up, along with 2 or 3 other drivers.
NVCPL.DLL will not load now, giving an error message.
I finally fixed most of the problems, but now windows
update keeps telling me I need to install the critical
updates, but the "history" shows I already have them!
Based on what they did to my system the 1st time around,
I'm scared to re-install them, yet I fear NOT having them
also.
The files I'm describing include:
Security Update for Microsoft Data Access Components
(823718)
814078: Security Update (Microsoft Jscript version 5.6,
Windows 2000, Windows XP)
Any suggestions? Should I attempt to re-install, and hope
they don't foul up my system even further?
Help would REALLY be appreciated!
