I just upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Home
Edition and I can't get my CD's to play music, no sound
comes out.

Are you getting any sound at all? You can try going to your manufacturers'
web site and download the latest drivers for your sound card.

Visit the website of the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard,
search for Windows XP drivers for your audio device, download and
install them.

Has anyone else had a problem upgrading from windows 98 to
window xp home? I get an error that a .dll is missing
but of course the error message from microsoft can't tell
you what .dll is missing. If it knows it is missing than
why can't they tell me what it is so I can look for it.

Hi,

Delete the contents of C:\windows\temp, shut down your antivirus software.
Read this link, then try again:
