XP Home to XP Professional upgrade

I have bought 3 laptops to find that they have xp home
installed as we have an nt server we need xp
professional. I have loaded a lot of programmes/data on
these machines. The supplier will provide xp professional
as he feels that this is a genuine mistake. Can xp
professional be loaded over the top of home and keep data,
etc?

Yes! It is the easiest upgrade to date. You should be
able to proceed with total confidence.

Don't forget that when the upgrade is complete, you will need to go install
patches from Windows Update again! You should turn the firewall on, or
disconnect the network cables, while upgrading to prevent the chance of
becoming infected with one of the Blaster variants until you have gotten the
patches applied again.
