On my IBM thinkpad A22M, my HD died, and I received a new
one which I am trying to install Windows XP Pro (SP1) on.
I have full license cd's. Every time I try to install, it
starts the setup, copies the initial files, then seems to
hang in the installation screen at 39 minutes left (what
it started at). The time never changes after that, but
the ad window (changing screen with promos) still keeps
changing. When I reboot, it continues right back at that
screen, again with no change. 2-3 hours, nothing.
I tried another CD. Same results. It did install fine on
another compaq laptop. Just not this IBM. I upgraded my
BIOS to the latest rev, and have all the ibm drivers ready
on a cd to load once I get XP on. However, I can't seem
to finish the installation.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
