xp is not detecting my mp4 player

Posted: 01-21-2007, 09:40 PM
I have tried to connect an mp4 player to my pc via usb port. I am running xp
sp2. Instead of the "found new device" when i plug in the mp4, my pc carrys
on as if nothing has been plugged in failing to recognose the device. I need
to connect it to put new firmware on but as it will not acknowledge the
device i am stumped. Does anyone have any ideas how to make xp recognise it.
I do not know the manufacturer of the mp4, it is one of the mass produced
chinese players that has no manufacturers emblem though i have found the
correct firmware from the board i.d
