XP Pro Bridge built-in NIC - wireless LAN PC Card does not work

Posted: 09-19-2003, 03:54 AM
In XP-Pro on a laptop,I wish to bridge the built-in ethernet NIC with a
WiFi wireless PCMCIA NIC (Orinoco (802.11b). The idea is to be able to
plug an IP device (IP telephone) in the laptop RJ45 jack so that it
becomes part of the wireless link to connect to the router.

XP bridge configuration does not want to configure using the LAN DHCP
server.

When configured manually with a valid LAN address, gateway etc ... the
bridge does not work.
Attention was given to force the NIC's into Promiscuous mode using the
netsh command.

Is XP bridge NOT meant for bridging such NICs ?

Thanks in advance Alain
