Default XP System restore/Restore Point

After creating and changing to that new account, I
deleted the old account. What I did not relize is
deleting the files also deleted My Documents folder. I
had a lot of info there that I needed and restore point
did not bring it back! It also deleted my e-mail account
which is needed as well (addresses and old e-mail.

Does anyone know how to get this back?

Thanks, Rick

Hi Rick,

Oops.

Shouldn't have done that. You probably won't be able to recover it to what
it was, but may be able to recover some of the files if they have not yet
been overwritten (the more you use the machine, the lower your chances).
This free utility can help:

As to your mail, you might check for the .dbx files and use this utility to
recover them:

But the account itself will need to be rebuilt using the settings supplied
by your account provider.

Rick,

XP's System Restore only stores "critical" files - .dll's, .exe, registry
info, etc... It does NOT store documents.

There are several "undelete" programs out there. You might try several of
them and see if they can get your data back.
