I am trying to add a notebook running XP home to a home
wireless network. The network is Linksys WPC11 to
BEFW11S4 wireless cable/dsl router which is hardwired to
a desktop "file and print server" running W98SE. From
the XP notebook I can see the internet, I can see and
access files on the "server", I can see the shared
printers, but when I try to print the printer posts the
test page as "spooling" but never progresses. If I print
a test page from another computer (a notebook running
W98SE and linked over the same wireless network), it
shows up in the printer window on the XP notebook behind
the test page from the Xp notebook, then moves ahead and
prints. The page from the XP notebook never progresses
past "spooling". The printer is an HP Photosmart 1215
with the latest driver, but I am using the full driver
because I want to retain the camera chip download feature
of the printer. W98 notebooks and the host W98 server
print to this printer with no problems. Help???!!!
