You might have experienced similar situations as well.There are different reasons to change ip address to different people. Some tend to do this to hide their internet activity while some unfortunate mortals do theis when their ip is banned for reasons the person would know better.
Anyway, here are some ways to change your IP address which you might give a try.
1. If you are using Windows xp then you can do the following steps in order to get a new ip:
Follow the sequence Start> Run> Type “cmd” and press enter without quotes.
You will see a window where in you will have to write “ipconfig/release” with out the quotes.
This step will terminate your internet connection.
Now write “ipconfig/renew” in the same window. This step will renew your IP address.
2. The other method which is pretty similar to the first one is:
- Get the command prompt by clicking on Start > Run and then type command and click ok
- Then type ipconfig /release” without quotes into the command window.
- Shut down windows
- Make sure the computer is turned off
- Switch off the modem
- Leave everything off for 8 hours or more
- Switch the modem back on
- Switch the computer back on
- Check your IP address
This should change your ip address.
3. The third step which you can use in order to change IP address is :
- Log into the router’s admin console.
- Release the IP address. (Method varies by router manufacturer)
- Turn off router, ethernet hubs/switches, and the cable/DSL modem
- Leave off overnight
- Turn everything back on
